Content is by far the most important thing in making a page popular. This aspect is neglected by many users and my opinion is that they are doing a huge mistake.

Content is the key to bring regular people to your page and to being noticed by search engines.

Whatever your fancy marketing techniques can be, interesting and unique content is and has always been the key to attracting a lot of visits. It is very important to understand early the importance of search engines. They are a very good way to attract a constant traffic to your page and they are extremely sensible to interesting content.

Now, what is "interesting" ? What is interesting for you might be uninteresting for others of course, so you want your content to be well furnished, well written and talking about various subjects you are interested in.

You will notice that many people on Yuwie seem to be interested only in begging pageviews. They are comparable to real life beggars, except they have the simple possibility of making their profile interesting and turning it into a cool place which will attract pageviews. Keep your page full of trash and coming to pee on other people's wall will not bring you success ! It is perfectly acceptable to tell them "Your blog is empty, you should put something on" or "Your background make everything unreadable, you should consider changing your layout".

To attract visitors, you don't need to spam the notice board every five minutes to ask people to help you get your 100 page views, it's irritating for others and might as well get you de-friend and losing page views.

On the other hand, if you write regular interesting articles about what you are really interested in, people will tend to come back to your profile to read it and will link to it.
