Here is my quick guide on how to build up your network quickly on Yuwie and how to attract regulars and faithfull readers. Read and apply theses techniques and you will get a regular and quality traffic to your pages.

Keep your profile public

You want a MAXIMUM number of people to view your page, so there is no point in keeping your little secrets in your profile, or in requesting people to have your email adress or your last name before they can even invite you ! That's a 100% looser, you're sure you will never be found, search engines can't read your profile, it just can't work.

Introduce yourself properly on your blog

Just like in real life when you meet people, one of the first question they ask you is "hello, where are you from ? and what are you doing ?"Post a blog who sums up who you are, what you do, where you live and so on, so that people don't even have to ask you, it's already answered and how convenient, it gives you a pageview or two !So don't be like the guy who call you on the phone and doesn't give his name, you just don't want to talk to him or to pass him your daughter because he's rude.
Fill up a bit your profile, put a few albums up in your gallery, pay attention to the size of your pictures, users DON'T want to spend 5mn to view your cat ! So reduce the size of the pic to about 500x350px, it's usually plenty to present us your lovely pet.

Maximise your friends

Don't turn down anyone. Accept all invites, you will have time to de-friend annoying ones later on ;)

Find new friends

Register to the walls. In many clubs and people's blogs, there are walls of links to add people. Go the club section, sort by "Member counts" and join a few friends adders clubs, then visit theses clubs and randomly invite people until you get bored. Do this everyday until you get a decent 500 friends, and you'll get some readers for your page.Return regularly to the home page to invite the new members.

Keep bloging

It's important that you keep updating your blog regularly, nobody wants to come back on a regular basis to a page that always display the same information.It will also let search engines know that your page is worth be visited often, so your content will be included faster in google

Notice people

Don't expect people to come back to your page often, especially in the beginning. Every time you publish something, you must let people know that there is something new on your page.There is lots of ways to achieve this, here are a few examples :

• Using the notice board. It's by far the more convenient way, but warning ! This doesn't mean spamming the notice board with a notice for the same post every 3 minutes. All your friends are using this board, and you will irritate people if you abuse of this possibility. I already removed a few people from my list of friends because of this, so try not to drop more than 3-4 notices for a new post.
• Comments are a good way to let your friends know, as they will be more sensible to their comments than to the notice board, and as their friends will be able to see it as well, but since they are often published automatically, they tend to get flushed quickly out of the page and have a chance to remain unread by the user if he doesn't connect on a very regular basis.
• Personal messages are good too as they ensure the user will see it. On the down side, you have to spend 2 minutes to let 1 people know, which is highly unefficient, so it's important to message the people who are the most likely to forward your post (your close friends)
• Your shoutbox is a great way to make a link directly available to people who randomly browse your page

Give more importance to a friendship than to a marketing relationship.

As this goes in real life, your power is in your real friends, they are the one who will support you the most in this world as well, so protect them, support them, comment them, criticize them, they will help you in return.
